Arkansas State University football kicks off a new season this fall with a full slate of games!

Arkansas State University's football team is set to kick off its 2023 season on Thursday, August 31st, when they host the University of Central Arkansas at Centennial Bank Stadium in Jonesboro. The Red Wolves are coming off a 7-5 season in 2022, and they are looking to improve on that record in 2023.

Arkansas State has a lot of talent returning this season, including quarterback James Blackman and running back Omarion Hampton. Blackman passed for over 3,000 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2022, and Hampton rushed for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Red Wolves also have a strong defense, led by linebacker Antonio Parks and safety Jarius Reimonenq.

The Red Wolves will face a tough schedule in 2023, but they are confident that they can compete for a Sun Belt Conference championship. Arkansas State is scheduled to play six home games this season, including games against the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Memphis, and Louisiana-Lafayette.

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff football team competes in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) of the NCAA. The Golden Lions are a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). The Golden Lions have won three SWAC championships, in 1998, 2006, and 2021.

The Arkansas State Red Wolves and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions are two of the most successful football teams in the state of Arkansas. Both teams have a long history of success, and they are both looking to add to their trophy cases in 2023.
